Transfer Pumps & Stormwater Pumps

Specifically designed to

Move surface water from one water source to another

Whether it is for aesthetic appeal, flood prevention or operational needs, transferring surface water from one surface water source to another is sometimes requested by our customers. A transfer pump is designed to move a certain amount of water at a certain pressure from one place to another.

For example, it could be a case of pulling water out of a lake which is supplied by irrigation quality water from the local municipality and moving it into a larger lake where it will be diluted to make it less caustic. And then water would be pulled from that larger lake with another pump station and sent to the irrigation system.

In this situation we would design a high volume, low-pressure pump, providing just enough pressure to overcome any elevation changes so that it doesn’t create erosion where it's putting water into the other lake.

Stormwater Pumps

A similar system can be installed to draw excess water out of a lake at times of high rainfall, pumping it into an overflow lake to avoid any flooding, particularly in residential communities.

Transfer Pump Design

The pump ends of a transfer pump are normally a little different from the pump ends in a standard pump as they move a large volume of water at low pressure.

We are happy to design special application pump ends for specific projects such as fountains in residential developments and waterfalls at the entrances of gated communities.

We can assess your needs and design a system with the telemetry required to make this process as automated as it needs to be to make the process manage itself.
