This $125 million spring training facility for the Atlanta Braves is located in the city of North Port in Sarasota County, Florida.
The complex is spread over 90 acres and features seven fields, giving the Braves one of the most up to date training facilities around. The Atlanta Braves hired Hoover to install a large-sized centrifugal pump station with a filter system for their irrigation needs.

Stantech, the district’s engineer, had inherited an irrigation pump station design for the new spring-training complex and needed its control system reworked before building could continue. The station also had to supply two distinct areas, the shared grounds and the main ball field, each with its own pressure needs.
Hoover engineered a large centrifugal pump station to Stantech’s design brief, carrying over the same 80 PSI rating used elsewhere in West Villages. An addendum split the output between the common areas and the main ball field through two separate pipes and valves, so each could be managed independently.
When a nearby FPL transformer failure knocked out two of the station’s VFDs during the complex’s critical turf grow-in period, Hoover had replacements brought in from Pompano Beach and fitted the same day. The station still draws from the facility’s own lake, backed by a rarely-needed link into West Villages’ wider water network.
HW Spring Training Complex, LLC
This is a 160-acre complex that features the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals spring training ballpark stadium along with 6 other practice fields. Hoover was commissioned to install a large dual pump station and filter system to meet the facility's irrigation needs.
Baltimore Orioles
The Baltimore Orioles spring training facility, Ed Smith Stadium, is based in Sarasota, Florida. Hoover was engaged to install a booster system as part of the project to replace the facility's irrigation system with a greener, more environmentally sensitive operation. Ed Smith Stadium is noted as one of the most environmentally-friendly ballparks in the USA. Green credentials include extensive recycling, use of reclaimed water for toilets and irrigation, and the use of solar panels and roofing materials to save energy.
